Photographing In Nature

Photographing in the wild, is a form of positive activity that has its own difficulty level. Especially if we are photographing rain forests or mountain regions. Weather is not easy to guess and terrain at the pass is not easy, is the first difficulty for lovers of photography in the wild. Then, we still think of supplies during activities and handling techniques, certainly not for a moment because of travel and distant, will lead to exhaustion of its own. The result, as tired then when we take photos, the result would not be perfect. This factor also makes us lazy to take pictures, too lazy to take out the camera.

Here are tips on taking pictures in the mountain jungles :
  • Renting of transport services (Porter), one way to keep our bodies in order not to tire easily is to use a porter service, costs per day range from Rp 100,000 / day up to Rp. 200.000 / day, usually every porter differentiate tariffs for local tourists and foreign tourists.
  • Take your photography equipment as needed, if we bring the equipment if not needed, it only adds to the burden of our innate. Therein lies our flair. The more often we photographed in the wild, the more well-trained ourselves in selecting equipment that will be taken.
  • Mastering the technique of wild adventure, in addition to master the techniques of photography, we also must understand the basic techniques of mountain forests, ranging from supplies to physical and mental preparation that mature is one of the most important factor.
  • Patience in waiting for the moment, This is  the most difficult, because we will not be able to "read" nature, when it will rain and when it will be hot, it could be, when we would photograph arrived - the rain came down, and when we break , sunny weather. Thus, wake up early and wait for the right moment to photograph. Indeed this is very boring, you try to wait while listening to mp3 or chat with a neighbor's house (Why?).
  • Do not be lazy to find the angle of view, cold or hot air makes us lazy to walk just to find a good angle, sometimes a good angle on the places that we do not try. Sample cases, when someone's shooting at Mount Semeru, he is very lazy to look for angles, consequently he realized and regretted when he saw a photo in a magazine with the same place, but the angle is different.
  • Photographing people's lives around the mountains. Photographing the local community is unique because the community usually has a tradition which we have never seen before.
  • Keep your equipment well. Mountain areas generally have very extreme weather, so keep your photography equipment, especially cameras and lenses that can damp due to cold weather.
  • The best time to get a photograph of a landscape is at the time of the "Golden Hour" . This time is about 30 minutes after sunrise or 30 minutes before sunset. However, you can also get a dramatic dark cloud or a large white cloud with a bright blue sky. Of course, you have to really ensure that the time that we use is appropriate.

Equipment

In order to capture and produce images of the wild beauty of the most practical is to use a SLR camera or RLT (analog or digital) 35 mm with a zoom lens, wide to telephoto (28 - 85 mm) or medium to long telephoto (75 - 210 mm). Wide-angle lens of 20 mm or 300 mm telephoto lens is also better if any.
It should be noted that the photos of the outdoors is not always identical with the photograph to be taken by using wide angle lenses to capture large areas. But can also with a telephoto lens to detail and something more distinctive. The difference is, when using wide angle lens, the photographer must be able to ensure that the views of the outdoors who will be framed has the interesting foreground. For example, as there are flowers, rocks, artistic, silhouette of an object (reflection), the shadow of trees or foliage to create a strong impression of three dimensions.
Meanwhile, when using a long telephoto lens, wild scenery which will be described typically portrayed on the details of an object that characterizes the place. That would produce unique and interesting photos as well as serving a different touch.
Use the camera with the lens that can cover a variety of viewpoints not enough to produce a good photo. Something else that is needed is the completeness as a filters such polarizing filter (PL), 85B filter and Neutral Density filters (ND). Polarizing filter (PL) is very useful to reduce the reflection in addition to more frequently used to make blue skies and green grass or foliage. Filter 85B to strengthen the light color sunset and sunrise. While the ND filter is useful to minimize the difference in strength between the sky light with the bottom of the photo, so the situation is normally recorded in terms of lighting.

Nature photos with the Pocket Camera
However, if you belong to someone who likes to travel with a pocket camera, also need not be discouraged if you want to record the wild beauty of the visits. Because with a pocket camera, especially digital compact cameras also can generate beautiful pictures outdoors with ease.
Complete facilities in the software can help create the wild photos made with ordinary compact cameras to be extraordinary. It happened because the images can be manipulated by using a computer. Originally adept at operating the computer, at least it can produce good photos and interesting than an ordinary photograph produced by pocket camera. In this way not even have to be a professional to produce a good photo.
