Be Good Employers , Do not Beg

Islam encourages us to make a living to fulfill the lives needs themselves and their families.

Working for a living is not just a job of ordinary people, but the Prophet would also work.
Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:
"It is not God sent a prophet but he was herding goats." Then there is the friend said, "Are you well?" he replied, "Yes, I am herding goats with a wage of some experts qiroth Mecca." (Narrated by Bukhari 3 / 115)

Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:
"The Prophet Zakariya was a carpenter." (Narrated by Muslim 7 / 103)

Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam also said:
"The Prophet Daud not eat but from the results of his own." (Narrated by Bukhari 3 / 74)

Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam also said:
"It's one of you looking for firewood strapped on his back then lifted and sold, it's better than people who ask, to others, given or denied."

People who want to work, meaning that he respects himself and his religion. If the gain exceeds their live needs, then he is able to issue a charity, go for Hajj and help others.
